There must be more to life, much more to life than this…
Notte d'autunno

In questa notte d'autunno

sono pieno delle tue parole

parole eterne come il tempo

come la materia

parole pesanti come la mano

scintillanti come le stelle.

Dalla tua testa alla tua carne

dal tuo cuore

mi sono giunte le tue parole

le tue parole cariche di te

le tue parole, madre

le tue parole, amore

le tue parole, amica.

Erano tristi, amare

erano allegre, piene di speranza

erano coraggiose, eroiche

le tue parole

erano uomini.

Nazim Hikmet

необыкновенно проникновенные стихи,
к сожалению переведённые только на итальянский.
странно, что именно итальянцы более всего переводили Хикмета, видимо сыграла роль образность языка.
есть примерный, убогонький английский перевод

In this autumn night
I am full of your words / filled with your words
words – eternal like time
like matter
words – heavy like hands
scintillating like stars

From your head from your flesh
from your heart
your words have found me/touched me
your words full/loaded/brimming with – you

your words, mother
your words, love
your words, friend

Were sad, bitter,
were joyful, hope-laden
were courageous, heroic
your words
were men (“people”)
